    fashion evolution.
no one knows. it’s just a tradition. maybe because of a man wore a skirt his legs would look awful in it because of all the hair.

A very, very wise person. Picture Geogre Clooney in a silk Versace gown, and Scarlt Johanssen in a man’s tux, and tell me which makes more sense???

Girls aren’t typically embarassed to be like guys in some way, But guys pretty much won’t do anything girly. So girls wouldn’t be embarassed to wear pants (a guy thing) but guys would be embarassed to wear girl clothes like a skirt.

Since men are traditionally seen as the higher and more dominant *** it would be a step down for them to act like a woman, but its a step up and therefore not as embarassing for a girl to act like a guy.

I’m not saying the gender difference is good, but that’s the facts of how things have been historically.

Besides, skirts are soo **** therefore men want women to be the ones wearing them.

Look at history, the original English who came to America dressed kind if Frilly. I think once they got into exploring and all of the rough life they decided to wear pants to protect their legs etc. Women wear pants to be comfortable and so did they. Men do wear dresses if they cross dress.

A few hundred years ago, no-one wore pants. At the time they started to wear pant, women were assumed to stay at home and be elegant, and wore big and complicated gowns. Traditional *** roles were then very much manifested in the dresses.

During the eighteen hundreds the, dresses had to allow more freedom of movement, so women could work in factories. The link between stock market and length of skirts reflects this: When labor force were limited, women had to step in, and needed clothes that allowed them to work. Still the manifestation of the difference between the sexes was important.

Today this manifestation is established, but no longer mandatory. I use it as a way to show that I am a woman, and I am very happy that such a unambiguous signal still exists. Obviously the majority agrees with me, if not there should be no reason why it has not become normal for men to wear skirts today.
