Sending clothing to kids in third world countries?

Bren J asked:

I’d really like to help with this. I could collect gobs of used clothing from my church and school.
Anybody know of any good organizations to donate to or some good ways to get started?
Kimberly: I’m sure you’re right. There are many people suffering in our country. But I have been to seven different foreign countries and I can tell you that none of it is nearly as bad as what goes on in third world countries. People born in america have hope for a future because there is money all around them. People born in foreign countries often have nothing.

I know this may sound selfish. But shouldn’t we start trying to take care of the homeless, clotheless, foodless and abused people in our own country before we start helping others. I know that these people are hungry and need help. But lately that’s all you hear of. The starving people in Africa, or India, or wherever there are starving people. What about the people in Boston, Cleveland, Grand Rapids and Charleston to name a few. You never hear about them.

It would probably be more cost effective to donate to the 700 Club and make a note that you want it to be designated to go to Operation Blessing and specify if you want it to go for clothing for third world countries. They provide food, clothing, medicine and medical care, glases, wells, etc. to people in need all around the world. God bless!!
