I make sure I stick within my budget. I don’t tend to go overboard, because then that is just teaching the kids to be excessive and buy what they don’t need.
I buy what my kids need, with of course input on what they want, but no, I don’t buy and by or feel compelled to buy more that they don’t need once I do buy something.

Before we go shopping we go through the closet and try on all of last years clothing. We give away anything that is still good but does not fit. We throw away, or keep for chores, any clothing that still fits but is no longer acceptable to wear for school or outings. We then make a list of everything that is still acceptable and wearable. We compare that list to our list of must-have clothing. We highlight all of the items that need to be replaced. We then go shopping for those highlighted items. If we find a really good buy on something that they would regularly wear, we will buy that as well.

Yes. And, no matter how many you buy, they still need more jeans and more jean shorts, and the ones they have are too little, too big, too worn out, or they have decided for some reason that they can’t stand to wear them, and there is absolutely no way you are going to change their mind about it.

sometimes I get out of control I always find something I have to get for my daughter espically with dresses. I always put daughter in cute summer dresses. my husband does the same thing he comes home with things for her more then he does for me LOL she may sound spoiled but she isn’t because we only shop for her when she out grows things

I have a set budget for clothes and stick to it. We have fun looking for sales and even shopping at thrift shops. This year, I got my daughter a complete gently worn wardrobe for free thru our local Freecycle. She was psyched and loves all the clothes.

No, not really. My kids know before we go to the store what we are going for, and that is it. They are generally very grateful and appreciative. The only problem we seem to have is that we buy new clothes and they fit for a month and then they don’t fit anymore.
